OLYMPIA, Wash. — Gov. Bob Ferguson signed a controversial bill Monday that imposes an income tax on millionaires in Washington state.
The law imposes a 9.9% income tax on households earning more than $1 million annually, applying only to earnings above that threshold. The latest version of the legislation includes expanded tax breaks for small businesses and low-income families.
