South King County and north Pierce County residents will be able to hop on the light rail in Federal Way and Kent before the end of the year.
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — The Federal Way light rail station will open Dec. 6, Sound Transit Board Member Peter von Reichbauer announced Thursday morning.
The extension adds nearly 8 miles to the 1 Line, including stations serving the Kent-Des Moines neighborhood and the Star Lake neighborhood.
Von Reichbauer said he thought of the Federal Way station’s opening day as “the day hell freezes over.”
