The family of a 12-year-old girl who died by suicide while admitted to inpatient psychiatric care is suing the hospital for medical malpractice and negligence.
SPOKANE, Wash. — The family of a 12-year-old girl who died by suicide while she was under psychiatric care at Sacred Heart Medical Center has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Providence Health & Services.
The lawsuit was filed by Narsa Gertrude, who says her daughter died “needlessly” because the hospital and the child’s caregivers “failed to keep [her daughter] safe while under their custody and control.”
