A fallen tree at McKenna Park’s Halloween event killed one person and injured several others.
ROY, Wash. — A Halloween trick-or-treat event at McKenna Park turned tragic this afternoon when a large tree fell onto event booths, killing one person and trapping several others beneath the debris.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders received the call at 1:02 PM on Saturday. The incident occurred during a community Halloween celebration that was attended by an estimated 40 to 80 people.
