Thursday’s multi-faith vigil drew about 100 participants downtown as tensions continue to rise over federal immigration policies.
SEATTLE — About 100 demonstrators from diverse faith communities gathered Thursday afternoon at the steps of Seattle’s U.S. District Courthouse for a peaceful vigil supporting immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
The “Together in Welcome” multi-faith vigil, organized by the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice NW, drew participants who carried handwritten signs and candles as tensions continue to rise over federal immigration policies.
Among the crowd was Katie Gustainis, who brought her 3-year-old daughter to the demonstration.
