Fire burned 65 acres near Sun Country, 7 acres near Little Creek; I-90 briefly closed as crews fought flames.
CLE ELUM, Wash. — Firefighters have lifted all evacuation orders after gaining control of the Sun Country and Little Creek fires along Interstate 90.
The Sun Country fire burned about 65 acres and the Little Creek fire scorched 7 acres after breaking out Monday between mileposts 77 and 84. At its peak, 232 personnel and 30 engines battled the flames, supported by helicopters and aircraft that dropped water and retardant to slow the spread.
