SEATTLE — With spring right around the corner, the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA) has issued an El Niño Watch for later this year.
NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center expects a transition from La Niña to neutral conditions over the next month, according to a March 12 discussion. There’s a 55% chance of neutral conditions from May through June and a 62% chance that El Niño will likely emerge June through August and continue through at least the end of the year.
