Driver in custody for DUI after semi-truck overturns on SR 167 in Algona

AUBURN, Wash. — The driver of a semi-truck that crashed in the northbound lanes of State Route 167 south of Auburn on Friday was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.

The crash, which occurred around 1:30 p.m., blocked all northbound lanes and two southbound lanes in Algona for hours. 

The truck was cleared shortly after 4 p.m. Crews remained on scene to clear debris.

The roadway reopened to traffic around 4:45 p.m.

The cause of the crash remains unknown.

Four people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

At least one other vehicle was involved, according to state Trooper Rick Johnson.
