MASON COUNTY, Wash. — A driver escaped unharmed Friday evening after their vehicle veered off East State Route 3 and partially submerged in Cranberry Creek, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 7:30 p.m. to assist the Washington State Patrol at the scene. The driver was able to exit the vehicle without assistance.
By Saturday morning, a tow company — aided by deputies and the Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Response Team — recovered the vehicle from the creek. Officials noted swift water conditions required additional safety precautions during the operation.
