Authorities are asking drivers to expect road closures in the area and use alternate routes.
OLYMPIA, Wash. — Deputies are investigating an “active shooting involving law enforcement” off Hoffman Road in Olympia that killed a suspect, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Derek Sanders said the department was involved in “an officer-involved shooting” after a vehicle reportedly sped 90 MPH in a 35 MPH zone on Yelm Way Southeast. After a chase, the sheriff’s office said a suspect and deputy crashed near Morse Merryman Road Southeast.
