Crews are fighting a fire at a vacant building in the 4300 block of Eighth Avenue NE.
SEATTLE — Seattle Fire crews are responding to a large fire at a vacant building in the University District.
The building fire is in the 4300 block of Eighth Avenue NE.
Firefighters knocked down the exterior portion of the fire shortly before 9:30 p.m. and were in a defensive position by 10 p.m.
Shortly after 10:10 p.m. it was determined it was safe for firefighters to enter the building and extinguish the fire from the inside and search for occupants.
