KING COUNTY, Wash. — A King County councilmember says the Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) may have fostered a “developing culture of silencing those who are reporting grant recipients misusing money.”
Councilmember Reagan Dunn made the claim Tuesday as the council weighed new legislation to add oversight to the department, which has faced scrutiny since a county audit revealed significant internal-control failures.
