Construction crews hit gas line causing road closure in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood

The closure occurred at Eastlake Avenue E and E Roanoke Street early Tuesday morning.

SEATTLE — A road in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood is closed Tuesday morning after a contruction crew hit a gas line. 

Seattle police said the fire crews and officers had responded to the scene at Eastlake Avenue E and E Roanoke Street before 5 a.m. 

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

It is not known how long the road will be closed to traffic, police said.
