Family of one victim expresses frustration that the case has seemingly faded from the public and media spotlight.
ROCKPORT, Wash. — For more than a year, GuruBani Whitney Young has grieved the loss of her daughter Jillian Whitney Van Boven, one of three people found in the burnt remains of a Rockport home in August 2024.
All three victims had gunshot wounds.
In the immediate days that followed the gruesome discovery, Jason Birman was identified by police as the suspect.
He’s accused of killing Van Boven, 18, her boyfriend Taylor Dawson, 19, and Dawson’s 52-year-old mother Erin Birman.
