TACOMA, Wash. — The city of Tacoma is expanding its traffic safety camera network and has raised maximum fines for violations, part of a broader effort to reduce traffic fatalities.
The maximum penalty for citations issued by traffic cameras increased last week from $124 to $145. The city currently operates 14 cameras – nine monitoring red lights, four in school zones and one targeting speeding violations.
