Chelan County deputies rescue kayaker in distress on Roses Lake

A kayaker in distress was rescued by Chelan County deputies on Roses Lake after his kayak overturned in strong winds.

CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office says deputies rescued a kayaker in distress Tuesday morning on Roses Lake near Manson, Washington.

According to the sheriff’s office, on April 7, at about 8:22 a.m., RiverCom dispatch received reports of a man in his 60s yelling for help roughly 600 meters offshore in extremely windy conditions. Callers said the kayak may have overturned and no other boats were on the water, according to the sheriff’s office.
