Car crash downs power lines in Lake Stevens

A crash Monday afternoon in Lake Stevens knocked down power lines, closing roads and causing outages for residents. Two people were hospitalized.

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — Active power lines were knocked down in a crash in Lake Stevens on Monday afternoon, forcing a road closure.

The two-car crash was reported in the 3900 block of North Machias Road around 1:52 p.m.

The roadway is closed at 28th Street Northeast and Machias Road due to active power lines on the road.

Both parties involved in the crash were taken to Providence Medical Center. They are expected to be OK, according to a spokesperson
