Cable theft disrupts Eastside light rail service

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Regular train service on Sound Transit’s 2 Line resumed Saturday afternoon following a suspension caused by cable theft near Wilburton Station, the agency said.

The outage began early Saturday and disrupted service between South Bellevue and Spring District stations. Shuttle buses had replaced trains while crews worked to repair power infrastructure.

Sound Transit announced that service was restored at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, though passengers should expect delays as normal operations resume.
