SEATTLE — A South Seattle nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through entrepreneurship was targeted in a devastating break-in last month, prompting calls for community support and accountability.
Empowering Youth and Families Outreach (EYFO), a Black-led nonprofit serving youth in Seattle’s Rainier Valley, was burglarized repeatedly overnight between April 30 and May 1.
Surveillance footage shows a group of approximately 10 individuals entering and exiting the facility multiple times between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m., stealing equipment used by teens in the organization’s programs.
