Boeing began building its 777-8 Freighter, starting with drilling the first wing spar hole at its Everett factory.
EVERETT, Wash. — Boeing officially kicked off production of its newest cargo jet, the 777-8 Freighter, at its Everett factory Monday by drilling the first hole into one of the plane’s wing spars. The company said it’s a major milestone for the program.
A crowd of employees and engineers gathered inside the facility to count down the moment. The machine’s robot arm lowered, and the 777-8F officially entered production.
