Body of Sequim fisherman Ty Coone recovered from water near Dungeness Spit

Coone reported to 911 that he was “in distress and possibly drowning” after going fishing from his kayak on a Tuesday in mid-May.

DUNGENESS, Wash. — The body of Ty Coone was recovered from the water near Dungeness Spit, near where he went missing in mid-May. 

His mother, Michele Scott Duncan, confirmed to KING 5 that his body was recovered last Sunday, June 1, more than two weeks after he went missing. 

Coone had gone fishing on his kayak on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 14, near Dungeness Bay. At around 4:30 p.m., he placed a 911 call to report that he was “in distress
