Beloved Pierce County biker ‘Fish Hook’ hit, killed by apparent DUI driver

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said a 42-year-old woman was arrested and booked into jail for suspicion of vehicular homicide.

PUYALLUP, Wash. — Bikers across Pierce County are honoring and remembering a man who they said had a heart of gold.

Dean Smith, a 52-year-old known within the biker community as ‘Fish Hook’, was killed in an apparent DUI crash on Sunday evening in the South Hill area of Puyallup.

Dozens of people from multiple different bike clubs met at a pub in Spanaway on Monday to honor and remember their friend.
