Bellevue’s Samena Club faces possible closure after nearly 70 years

The club needs to raise $300,000 in the next few days to avoid closure.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — A longtime Bellevue recreation center that has served more than 23,000 families across the Eastside may be forced to close its doors after nearly seven decades.

Samena Club, a 33,000-square-foot nonprofit recreation center, announced it must raise $300,000 in the next few days to remain open. Without the funding, the board may vote next week to shut down operations in October.
