BELLEVUE, Wash. — Bellevue police are ramping up enforcement against reckless drivers and motorcyclists following a dramatic spike in serious motorcycle crashes this year. Nearly halfway through 2025, the city has already experienced double the number of severe motorcycle collisions compared to all of last year.
“If there’s a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle, the motorcycle always loses — regardless of whether they are following the rules,” said Officer Seth Tyler, a motorcycle officer with the Bellevue Police Department.
