Bellevue artist decries ‘cover up’ of community mural

A vibrant community mural at Redmond Town Center has vanished under a vinyl wrap, stirring controversy and calls for restoration.

REDMOND, Wash. — A beloved community mural that once decorated Redmond Town Center has disappeared beneath a vinyl wrap, sparking controversy over what some are calling a “cover up.”

The colorful artwork, which featured about 80 small creatures designed by children, was a source of community pride for at least 5 years before vanishing during the pandemic.
