Amazon to cut over 2,000 jobs in Washington state

Amazon will cut over 2,000 jobs in Washington by 2026 as part of broader layoffs.

SEATTLE — Amazon plans to permanently eliminate more than 2,000 jobs in Washington state as part of a workforce reduction.

A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the state shows the company expects to separate from 2,198 employees on April 28, 2026. The notice indicates the cuts will take place at multiple locations and will be permanent.

Amazon announced last week that it will cut 16,000 positions company-wide.
