BELLINGHAM, Wash. — “Farah” busies herself in the kitchen. It’s another day spent trying not to think of the fate that might befall her son and daughter.
“If the Taliban finds my children, they will kill them,” says Farah, through an interpreter, who is not using her real name.
Farah was relocated from Afghanistan to Bellingham with her husband and youngest daughter. They became targets of the Taliban after the U.S. began pulling out of Afghanistan in 2020.
