Activists confront airline at SEA Airport to halt deportation of medically fragile immigrant

SEATAC, Wash. — Immigration justice activists confronted airline employees at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Sunday night in an effort to stop the deportation of a medically fragile immigrant to the Philippines. Advocates say the man, 37-year-old Greggy “Kuya G” Sorio, could die if he is forced to travel.

Late Sunday night, Filipino immigrant justice group Tanggol Migrante told KING 5 they were able to successfully intervene and that the detainee was deplaned and taken back to the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma.

Sorio was brought to SEA Airport around 7 p.m.
