As the Seahawks’ championship celebration draws massive crowds downtown, business owners are opening early and stocking up.
SEATTLE — A few blocks from where the Super Bowl championship parade will begin Wednesday morning, the excitement is already palpable.
“It’s something unheard of for Seattle honestly,” said Akhil Thilakarajah, owner of Columbia Food Co., whose shop sits along the parade route.
From stadium-side bars to neighborhood storefronts, downtown businesses are preparing for a surge that could rival — or surpass — the city’s last championship celebration in 2014.
