'A city-wide crisis': Seattle police say 12 shot, 5 killed in string of weekend shootings

A rash of weekend gun violence in Seattle spilled over into Monday after a man was shot in the Yesler Terrace neighborhood Monday morning, marking the twelfth person shot in Seattle since Friday night, according to police.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Yesler Way at 8:30 a.m. Monday after receiving multiple calls about shots fired in the area. A 39-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds was found and taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police say. No arrests have been made.  

That shooting was the latest in a spate of gun violence that left five dead and six others injured over the weekend.
