8 more ‘canine’ carcasses found on Skagit County beaches, brings total to 21

The Guemes Island fire chief said eight more carcasses were recovered on Thursday, bringing the total to 21 canines found in the last week.

SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — Officials found eight more “canine” carcasses on Skagit County beaches Thursday, bringing the total to 21, after over a dozen carcasses washed ashore in the past week. 

Guemes Island Fire Chief Olivia Cole said crews recovered eight carcasses on April 2 from beaches of Guemes Island, located just north of Anacortes.
