A family-owned strawberry farm off state Route 203 was completely submerged, with floodwaters rising about 5 feet above ground level.
CARNATION, Wash. — Gary Remlinger has spent six decades farming in the Snoqualmie Valley, but he’s never experienced anything like this week’s flooding.
“I’m 80 years old, been here farming for 60 years, and this is the biggest flood I’ve ever seen,” Remlinger said. “Just unbelievable.”
The Snoqualmie River crested above 60 feet this week, transforming the valley into a lake. Remlinger’s family-owned strawberry farm off state Route 203 was completely submerged, with floodwaters rising about 5 feet above ground level.
