57 animals seized from home in Kitsap County

The Kitsap Humane Society said the animals were found in “deplorable” conditions. The animals include around 10 cats, 23 adult dogs, 23 puppies and a pig.

KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. — The Kitsap Humane Society reopened to the public Friday after a two-day closure prompted by the seizure of dozens of animals from what officials described as a severe hoarding situation at a home near Poulsbo.

The animals, 57 in total, were discovered Tuesday when Kitsap County Animal Control executed a search warrant at a home. Authorities said the animals were found in filthy conditions, many stacked in cages.
