FEDERAL WAY, Wash — Police are on scene investigating after a shooting in the parking lot an IHOP location in Federal Way on Thursday.
Federal Way police say officers responded to a shooting call outside the location off Southwest Campus Drive. A few minutes later, police say a 2-year-old child was brought into the hospital with a gunshot wound. The child was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
Police say “preliminary investigations” suggest one of the child’s relatives and another person were shooting at each other in the parking lot, and that this was not a random occurrence.
