East Jefferson Fire Rescue says that two people on the sailboat in Glen Cove suffered burns “to over 20% of their bodies.”
PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. — Two men were airlifted to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center after a 50-foot sailboat caught exploded and caught fire Saturday in Glen Cove, according to East Jefferson Fire Rescue (EJFR).
Fire crews were dispatched after reports of an explosion and fire south of the Port Townsend Paper Mill around noon. The occupants of the sailboat had escaped in a dinghy along with their dog and were later picked up by Vessel Assist, which took them to the Boat Haven fuel dock
