2 drown after being swept away by wave in Ocean Shores

The two were surf fishing when they were swept away by a wave and drowned, according to the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office.

OCEAN SHORES, Wash. — Two people died after they were swept away by a wave Wednesday morning in Ocean Shores. 

Four people were out on the beach Wednesday morning surf fishing in the Copalis Beach Area when they were unexpectedly swept into the ocean, according to the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office (GHSO). 

First responders arrived at the scene around 10 am. Two of the people made it back to shore safely, but two others were pulled out of the water by deputies
