GIG HARBOR, Wash. — Two employees were critically injured Wednesday afternoon after a propane tank caught fire behind a business north of Purdy, prompting a large emergency response.
Crews with Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One responded around 2 p.m. to the Cenex on the 15000 block of 66th Avenue NW for a reported gas leak. Firefighters arrived to find a propane tank and nearby vehicle on fire in the facility’s rear parking lot, where propane transfers are conducted.
