125th Washington State Fair celebrates past, embraces future

PUYALLUP, Wash. — The 125th Washington State Fair will celebrate Puyallup’s past while paying tribute to the state’s future, according to fair organizers.

The fair opens Friday with a blend of new dining options and beloved traditional treats, as vendors prepare for another year of the Washington state staple.

A centerpiece of this year’s culinary offerings is the new 1900 Food Hall, featuring James Beard Award-nominated chef Mitch Mayers and his restaurant DOH!

“A little play on words for the Homer Simpson fans out there,” said Mayers, whose grandfather used to sell toys at the fair.
