Add a standing ovation to 102-year-old Harvey Drahos’s accolades following his first pitch at the Mariners game on July 4.
SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Mariners won their Fourth of July game against the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-0 Friday, but one of the highlights happened before the game ever started.
Harvey Drahos, a 102-year-old World War II Army veteran, threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.
“They out to sign him as a relief pitcher,” said friend Karen Schoessel, “That’s the best I’ve seen Harvey in a long time.”
