Vertical has acquired North American distribution rights to Matt Tyrnauer’s documentary “Nobu” ahead of its 2025 Tribeca Festival premiere.
Based on the book “Nobu: A Memoir by Nobu Matsuhisa,” the film about the famous chef and restaurateur Nobu Matsuhisa had its world premiere at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival. Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios financed and produced the doc.
In the documentary, Tyrnauer (“Carville: Winning Is Everything, Stupid,” “Where’s My Roy Cohn?”) examines Matsuhisa’s empire while also chronicling his roots from a delinquent childhood to his emergence as a promising young chef and eventually the man who redefined global gastronomy.
