Tacocat Rocks the New ‘Powerpuff Girls’ Theme Song

What’s better than girl power? Girl superpower. The Powerpuff Girls proved that during the adored animated program’s run on Cartoon Network from 1998–2005. With a fresh incarnation of The Powerpuff Girls returning to the air later this year, Seattle’s own Tacocat now enters into that heroic realm. The band was tapped to record the reboot’s new theme song, “Who’s Got the Power?” The song blows the previous incarnation’s instrumental theme song[1] out of the proverbial water. (Though Bis’s end credits theme for the old show still rules[2].) With the blissful sounds of Tacocat guiding them, how could Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles ever fail?

In other Tacocat news of the day, the band also released “Talk,”[3] the second single from the upcoming album Lost Time. The new album arrives on April 1 via Hardly Art. Don’t miss the Lost Time release shows (early all-ages[4]; late show 21+[5]) on March 31 at Chop Suey.
