The Spider-Verse is expanding again.
“Spider-Punk,” a spinoff of 2023’s animated hit “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” is in early development at Sony Pictures Animation. Daniel Kaluuya, who voiced the character in the comic book sequel, and Ajon Singh are developing and co-writing the feature.
Plot details haven’t been sorted out, but the film will center on the punk-rock version of Spider-Man — aka Hobie Brown — whose main weapon is his guitar. Kaluuya’s character was introduced — along with many other iterations of the beloved web-slinger — in the multiversal adventure “Across the Spider-Verse.”
