Sony is increasing the price of its PlayStation 5 consoles in the United States by $50 beginning Thursday. The Japan-based video game and tech giant attributes the move to the “challenging economic environment” amid the recent tariffs put in place by President Donald Trump’s administration.
The new pricing structure is as follows:
PlayStation 5 – $549.99 PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99 PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99
Currently, the standard PlayStation 5 console is priced at $499.99, the digital version retails for $449.99 and the PlayStation 5 Pro runs at $699.99.
