A report published by the Cairo Film Connection, during Cairo Industry Days (Nov. 16-20), provides key data on recent trends in the Egyptian film industry, including the pivotal role played by Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning exhibition and production sector.
Egyptian cinema is the oldest and largest in the Arab world and has enjoyed fluctuating export success over the decades. Recently the foreign market has become more lucrative than the local market, above all for a select number of Egyptian titles.
