Yeon Sang-ho‘s “The Ugly” climbed to the top of the Korean box office with $1.9 million from 254,828 admissions over Sept. 19–21, edging past “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle,” which earned $1.7 million and settled for second.
According to KOBIS, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council, “The Ugly” has reached $5.4 million since opening on Sept. 11, while “Demon Slayer” stands at $37.4 million after a month in release.
