Juan Devis has been named president of Film Independent, the nonprofit arts organization that produces the Film Independent Spirit Awards, acting president Brenda Robinson announced on Tuesday. Devis will step into the role on April 20.
An accomplished media executive, creative strategist and fundraiser, Devis joins Film Independent from the Public Media Group of Southern California (PBS SoCal | KCET). There, he was the Chief Creative Officer and oversaw a team of creatives and a production slate that earned over 30 Emmys in addition to James Beard, Edward R.
