Crime and fantasy were front and center at this year’s Up Next: Germany showcase at Berlinale Series Market on Feb. 16, where producers unveiled four upcoming titles, three scripted shows and one documentary series.
While revolving around crime, “Westend Girl” is also a family drama. Set in Düsseldorf, the fact-based series follows 19-year-old Ronja (played by “System Crasher” star Helena Zengel), whose world collapses when her parents are suddenly arrested on suspicion of running the city’s biggest cocaine ring.
