“Abbott Elementary” has been renewed for Season 6 at ABC, the network announced Wednesday.
The news comes on the same day the show resumes its fifth season, with a new episode set to air tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on the broadcast network. Season 5 originally premiered on Oct. 1.
“Abbott Elementary” has become a cornerstone of ABC’s primetime scripted lineup, with the show remaining highly popular even this late in its run. It is also one of the only pure comedies that ABC currently airs, alongside the multi-cam “Shifting Gears” with Tim Allen
