Looking back, Dave Green recognizes the irony: “I think I was in self-protection mode after the previous experience I’d had [directing “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows”], and I was just wanting to be very careful about who I was going to work with next,” he says, describing the excitement he felt pitching Warner Bros. his take on Ian Frazier’s satirical “Coyote v. Acme” piece, first published in The New Yorker, in which Wile E. Coyote sues the company that manufactured all his faulty equipment.
