Shots fired near Yesler Community Center following Mayor Wilson’s news conference, police say

According to Seattle police, multiple bullets struck the building. No injuries were reported.

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating after shots were fired near Yesler Community Center following a news conference with Mayor Katie Wilson.

According to the Seattle Police Department, a 911 call was received around 5:10 p.m. reporting gunfire near the community center. According to reporting from the Seattle Times, Wilson was rushed away from the center. 

Police said shots were fired out of a sedan carrying three to four people. The building was struck by gunfire, causing damage and striking a glass door. 

No injuries were reported.
